day 1

Welcome by a folkloric group at the airport and transfer to the hotel. Welcome Cocktail. Light dinner in a colonial restaurant.

day 2

Jeep Tour to Otavalo inclusive visit of the pyramids of Cochasqui, shaman-ceremony and drive to the lagoon of Mojanda. Fiesta Otavaleña with the specialty “guinea pig”. Typical show and music. Optional dinner in an old hacienda. Jeep Tour to the thermal baths of Papallacta.
Overnight at Hostería Thermas de Papallacta & Spa.

day 3

Jeep Tour to the ecological reserve of the Antisana for the observation of condors and to the Páramo landscape.
Start of the Gaucho adventure, on the back of horses you have to search your picnic lunch with GPS.
Overnight at an old hacienda.

day 4

Jeep Tour to the Cotopaxi volcano, situated at an altitude of 4.500m. Hiking to the glacier. By mountain bike you will ride downhill to the valley. Typical lunch at hacienda La Cienega, where Humboldt once lived. He climbed up the Cotopaxi without gear. Lecture of Humboldt’s’ collected works. Drive on the “Avenue of the Volcanoes”, part of the famous Panamericana, back to Quito.

day 5-6

Flight to the Kapawi Lodge, situated in the Amazon area, approximately 14 days-hike away from the so-called civilisation and operated by Achuar Indians. 2 days canoe riding, blow tube shooting, piranha fishing, nocturnal walks, visit of Indian tribes, shaman rituals, survival training in the primeval forest.
2 overnights at the Kapawi Lodge, optional: 1 night in a tent or in the Achuar community.

day 7

Return flight to Quito. Visit of the marvellous colonial centre of Quito, drive to the equatorial monument with equator ceremony after a team competition. Gala evening in the oldest convent with show, music and firework.

day 8

Return flight.
